Simulacra Walkthrough: James' Experience

As a fan of the Simulacra series, I was excited to dive into Simulacra 3, which promises to be even more ambitious than its predecessors. But before I delve into my thoughts on this new game, I'd like to share my experience with Monster Train, another notable title that caught my attention recently.

Monster Train is a deck-building roguelite set on a train, where your goal is to protect the crystal and the train from enemies that move up the tracks. What sets it apart is its unique three-level system of units that defend the train and the crystal at the top. I was immediately drawn in by the game's engaging gameplay and found myself playing for about an hour before losing my first game.

One issue I encountered was with the visuals, where some elements are cut off on the sides, including some bosses' health points. This made it difficult to gauge the boss's remaining health during battles. However, I enjoyed the game's tutorial and found most aspects of gameplay to be self-explanatory.

In contrast to Monster Train, Simulacra 3 is a 'found phone' game that appears to take place after the events of Simulacra 2, which released nearly three years ago. The series has always been known for its spooky atmosphere and intriguing storytelling, and I'm excited to see what's in store this time around.

As someone who's played all the previous games in the series, I was happy to see that Kaigan Games is still going strong with their craft. Since my week hasn't been too busy due to a recent lull in Genshin Impact updates, I've had plenty of time to explore other titles like Monster Train and Simulacra 3.
